Nathan is Hebrew and means "gift from God" - we couldn't have been more blessed than to have been chosen as his parents!

Thank you for keeping up-to-date with Nathan. We hope you visit often and enjoy experiencing our son's journey as much as we do. Please feel free to leave comments.

We love hearing from everyone!!!!

A Birthday, A Donation & A Lesson In Compassion

Nathan attended the birthday celebration of a very special little girl yesterday and I have to tell you about it!
Rather than purchasing gifts, she asked her party goers to bring a donation for the Humane Society!!!!!!!!! Wow. The donations took up the entire front entrance of their home!!! With each new arrival she became more and more excited. This act of kindness not only helps these animals but also reminds children and adults alike of those less fortunate and the importance of making a difference. Thank you my little angel!

I've decided to "pay-it-forward" by carrying on this very important lesson to Nathan and our family. Just think if each of us asked our children's friends and extended family to bring a small donation for the Humane Society, the food pantry, Toys for Tots, the local domestic violence shelter, or the troops. Imagine the impact such a small gesture could have if we all gave it a whirl. I challenge you to just try this - once.
I do realize that our son's immediate family will want to purchase him gifts and that's great! This little girls did too. It was everyone else that brought the donations. I personally feel that this strikes a nice balance - gifts for the celebration and donations for the needy. What an awesome idea!

Pass it on!
