Meeting more Italian family members...

Nathan got to meet some more of his family members this week at Nonnie's - he was visited by Josie and Zia Giuseppina. Nathan was also visited by Mario and Ada at Nonnies yesterday - what a busy day he had!!!

My first week back to work went very well but Nathan began having feeding issues again - he once again started vomiting from gas due to his gulping. At the last doctor appointment the pediatrician recommended that I put cereal in his formula so when he burps the formula will be heavy enough to stay in his stomach. However, when I tried to do that I couldn't get the hole in the nipple the right size and it was a disaster - Nathan vomited.

Now that this was happening again I decided Nathan needed to go back to the doctor and possibly see a specialist. I also began to do some research on the topic and found out that this gulping is usually caused by his bottle or nipple. So, I went out and bought two more bottles and different nipples to try. Unfortunately, neither worked.

My sister called the next morning after speaking with her friend who's children had this same issue - she told her that there is a special "Y" nipple made only by Dr. Browns and sold only at Babies R Us that I needed to buy. This special nipple is made just for babies that need cereal in their formula. I purchased these nipples last night and so far Nathan has not vomited with his burps. There is going to be some trial and error with the amount of cereal to be put into the formula - because if it's too thin he will still get sick - so I'll have to thicken it. Nathan really seems to like his oatmeal in the formula and we're hoping this will help him.

I am willing to give this a trial run but have a doctors appointment already scheduled in case it doesn't. It breaks my heart to see him get sick and I just want to fix whatever is going on.
