Nathan is Hebrew and means "gift from God" - we couldn't have been more blessed than to have been chosen as his parents!

Thank you for keeping up-to-date with Nathan. We hope you visit often and enjoy experiencing our son's journey as much as we do. Please feel free to leave comments.

We love hearing from everyone!!!!

And, the thunder rolls......

Nathan experienced his first major thunderstorm! I wasn't sure how he was going to react but he slept through them during the night and as you can see in this picture the morning storms never bothered him either! He is watching his Baby Einstein video and having a great time. On a side note - the dog didn't do as well - Chopper hid under the covers!

Last Sunday, when we were at Church I noticed something that I've never noticed before. We have a very passionate Pastor and we love him for it but last week he was especially passionate - a.k.a. loud! And, as I was watching to see how Nathan was going to handle this energetic environment - I began to notice lots of parents carrying their babies out of the sanctuary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Kids were unhappy with Pastor Duke's volume and they were letting their parents know! hahahaha

Well, Nathan was great he just hung out and rested his tired little head on Aunt Kathy's shoulder. I generally only have to take Nathan to the quiet room when he starts laughing and baby talking! We have an infant care room but the last time I attempted to put Nathan in their there were 20 kids - all crying!!! I walked in that room and was shocked and then immediately thought - these poor parents taking care of all these screaming kids! YIKES!

5 Months and Counting!

Nathan turned 5 months old and yes, I'm hanging on to this basket! I am so excited to report that Nathan now rolls over consistently from his belly to his back with no problem. We are working on the roll from the back to the front and he's doing very well. He's also recognizing words - he knows his name, the word "up" and the word "in." Because he is so alert and pays attention intently I have begun teaching him sign language. Although, I don't expect he will respond for a few months. Nathan is also holding his bottles - we began working on this about 2 or 3 weeks ago and he has made tremendous progress.

In therapy, Nathan is working on his trunk control (or core). We now play with toys in a sitting position and work on having him reach to grab them. This developmental stuff sure is fun business!

Mommy Craziness? You be the judge..

I'm really am not sure if this is because new mother's get a bad case of mommy craziness or if I am just burning the candle at both ends but I do know something is amiss.

It all started last week when I was having a crazy day at work and called home to leave myself a reminder message about Nathan's therapy. However, as I left the office my sister called and said - "ya know, if you want to leave yourself a reminder message - you should do it on your own machine!!!" I was like - "WHAT!!" hahaha You'd think I would have picked up on it immediately considering my brother-in-law is on their machine.

Then, twice last week I left the house with my shirt on INSIDE OUT! the first time I happen to see Alphonze in Walmart and he was like "hey, you might want to turn your shirt rightside in!" And then, it happened again on Saturday morning - thankfully is was just at the gym. To top it all off -- Saturday after my workout I washed my face with a two hands full of conditioner!!

That was it! All I could do was laugh at myself.

The weekend up-date to follow.
