Nathan is Hebrew and means "gift from God" - we couldn't have been more blessed than to have been chosen as his parents!

Thank you for keeping up-to-date with Nathan. We hope you visit often and enjoy experiencing our son's journey as much as we do. Please feel free to leave comments.

We love hearing from everyone!!!!

Nathan's First Pool Party!!

Ok, I wouldn't call it a pool party because it was just Nathan and I but it was his first pool experience. At first, I just stood him in the nice warm water (from the sink) so he could get his feet wet and not totally freak out - then I sat him down. We practiced kicking his feet and splashing with his hands. He wasn't in long but enough for today. As you can see the sides of this pool are perfect height for Nathan to sit back and chill out...and, by the way not sure if I was suppose to keep the diaper on or off but I kept it on. It weighed about 5 pounds when I took it off. I have to give Huggies credit - I tried to wring that baby out - nothing!
After splashing around Nathan decided it was time for a nap - it was a perfect outdoor napping day. It was a hammock under the trees afternoon.

My Thumbies

I have two little thumbies
They're with me day and night.
My favorite thumb is on my left.
The other's on my right

My thumbies always comfort me
when I am feeling sad.
They help me to protect myself
when I am feeling mad.

My thumbies help me fall asleep
when I am feeling tired.
I do not know how better friends
could ever be desired.

"My Dog Ate My Homework"

It was an uneventful weekend in the Terry household because of the extreme temperatures...Nathan spent most of the weekend in the house hanging out with his parents. However, I do have a very funny story to share from therapy this week.

On Thursday, we welcomed back Nathan's speech therapist that had broken her ankle so badly she was out of work for a month. She was excited to see Nathan eating real food like a champ and holding his bottle with two hands!!
Because she had been out for so long she came to the house both Thursday and Friday. The first day Nathan was more interested in looking at Coreen than holding his bottle but on Friday I wasn't having it. So, as he was sitting on her lap I kept putting his hands on his bottle and he kept letting go. Finally, he realized he wasn't going to get away with it any longer so, he decided to hold on. In the meantime, Danny had come home and the three of us are standing in the kitchen chatting when all of a sudden I look to make sure Nathan still had his hands on his bottle and guess what I saw????????
Yep, Nathan putting all the sign language skills that I'm teaching him to good use - letting mommy know just what he thought about having to hold that bottle!!! We were all cracking up! I couldn't believe my eyes. I still crack up looking at this picture!
