That little voice...

Without a positive outlook and inner inspiration it's easy for life to get you down. Although, Nathan's Down syndrome will pose many challenges for him and our family - we choose to keep our eyes to the sky and count our blessings. On the tough days, subtle motivational reminders can keep us grounded and uplifted. I will post them periodically.

My first email from Nathan!!!

Dear Mommy,

I have a little help writing this to you since my fingers don't work too well yet on the keyboard (but they will!). I just wanted to tell you how much I love you and daddy. I was waiting a long time to meet you but I heard your voices and I knew that I had a very smart mommy with a lot of love waiting for me.

Thank you for helping me to learn so much in the last 6 months. You make it so fun to learn! I am excited to be growing up and doing new things.

I want you to know that there is no one on earth I will love more than you. You will inspire me, challenge me, and love me unconditionally and I just wanted to say thank you~ and I love you, too.

Love and kisses,
Nathan

At the Glen.....(Part 1)

The Terry Family had a terrific mini-vacation in the Finger Lakes at Watkins Glen. As most of you with children know vacations with infants take a lot of thought and planning. We really wanted a get-a-way this weekend but really struggled with where to go - we needed to make sure Nathan would have his needs met and this was the perfect choice!
The pictures above were taken at "the gorge" in Watkins Glen State Park - the views were absolutely amazing. Daddy deserves an award for this hike - it was 1.5 miles, about 900 stairs, straight up and he carried Nathan the entire way!
Once we made it to the top we took the shuttle bus back to our car - Nathan's first bus ride!!! He really enjoyed it - looking out the window the entire ride.
We also visited about a dozen wineries, a few breweries, the International Speedway, and the local Italian festival. Nathan even got in on the tasting - wait til you see that picture! More to come...
