Yesterday, we headed to the New York State Museum and right next to the museum we came across this new World War II Memorial ~ it's just beautiful. My beautiful niece wanted a penny to throw into the water and when I gave it to her I said, "make sure you make a wish!" She said, "I don't want to make a wish." To which I replied, "you have to ~ you can't throw your penny in without making a wish. That's why people do it." So, she took her penny and as she tossed it in made this wish - "I wish for a quarter." hahahahaha I am still laughing about this! She is too cute!
It's been a long time since I had been in the museum so it was like Nathan and I were experiencing it for the first time together. We found Sesame Street!
The September 11th display was probably the most difficult to view. I really wasn't able to absorb most of the items but will on my next visit. I just couldn't explain what happened and become emotional with the kids. This was one of the fire trucks from the World Trade Center ~ the men didn't make it out.
At the end of our trip, we went up to the 4th floor to ride the carousel and Nathan is still experiencing fear so I decided to sit in the pretty little cup with him. Well, that was a terrible idea! It spins!! Fast. I wasn't only now concerned about Nathan but for myself ~ I hate rides that spin like the t-cup! Nathan was fine but I was sick for about an hour after we left. UGH! lol
