Nathan is Hebrew and means "gift from God" - we couldn't have been more blessed than to have been chosen as his parents!

Thank you for keeping up-to-date with Nathan. We hope you visit often and enjoy experiencing our son's journey as much as we do. Please feel free to leave comments.

We love hearing from everyone!!!!

Our New Family Picture

Last weekend we had a wonderful weekend filled with lots of family. It was the first time we had all the children in our family in one location! It was party time for the kids! We met the newest additions to our family (twin boys ~ Jack and Ben) they live near Boston and this was their first trip home ~ this is Jack (I'm pretty sure. Ben has a birth mark on his head). They are both totally adorable - you can check out their blog by following the link for Mairead on the side bar.
This next picture is Noah ~ Nathan's cousin. At first I thought he was giving him a kiss and hug ~ doesn't it look like that? Nope. He was actually trying to stand up! Sorry Noah! You can see more of Noah from his blog ~ also on the side bar.We also took a little time for our newest family picture this weekend!
I love it!

Lake Taghkanic

Today, was a therapy free day for Nathan!! So, I decided we should go somewhere different and that's exactly what we did. We spent the day at the Lake Taghkanic State Park, which is about an hour from our home. What was really fantastic about today besides the beach was Nathan kept his hat on!!! I had to keep telling him to leave it on and not touch it and he did it! I get so concerned about the sun on his skin ~ even after applying spf 50. He looks so cute in his hat! I hope we can get him to wear them more often.
There are so many State Parks here in New York that I thought it would be nice to visit a few different ones that aren't too far from home. I would definitely go back for a visit to this beach.

Back To Work!

We all love vacations because it affords us an opportunity to be with family and friends and even more importantly it gives us a break from work! Nathan is no exception. While we're away he doesn't have therapy but that all changed when we came home ~ Nathan went back to work too!

These pictures and video are from physical therapy. What we're attempting to strengthen is Nathan's core through balancing. She is also working on strengthening his muscles through the use of medicine balls during play (this one is about 3 pounds).

What you should notice here is Nathan's tongue ~ see how its protruding? That's because he's working so hard. At this time, he can't get everything organized. So, when he's working on one set of muscles others are less engaged.
