Nathan is Hebrew and means "gift from God" - we couldn't have been more blessed than to have been chosen as his parents!

Thank you for keeping up-to-date with Nathan. We hope you visit often and enjoy experiencing our son's journey as much as we do. Please feel free to leave comments.

We love hearing from everyone!!!!

It's Official.....

Nathan is going in for surgery this week. We've just returned from the Ear Nose & Throat specialist and his fluid is worse not better. Thankfully, he doesn't have an infection, which means the doctor will give Nathan tubes and by weeks end he'll be able to hear!!!!

I'm excited that Nathan will really be able to hear without everything sounding like he's underwater. And, it's just in time too! We are starting a Mommy & Me music group on Wednesday and we're taking Nathan to see Elmo on Saturday. Although, I am a bit concerned that the volume may actually bother his ears now. We'll see.

The doctor was really excited that Nathan is still vocalizing new words even with the blockage in his ears. We're thrilled to see how things progress with his language once he's actually able to hear correct pronunciation and attempting new words on his own. Too cool! We're very excited!

On another note, I've been practicing with my new camera. Here are a few pictures.

I'm doing the Happy Dance for Nathan! Kandi, this is such great news. Wait. I bet you see a difference immediately.

Gabriel didn't seem to be bothered by his ear tubes being in. Noise levels didn't disturb him at all.

At school, his EA found a positive difference immediately. Terry and I hear much better articulation since September. It's amazing!

I wish I would have pushed for tubes when Gabe was two years old. I don't think I can forgive myself for that. But, at least, now, my son can hear properly.

I just think that your beautiful Nathan will surprise you! I can't wait to read about his upcoming speech milestones -- and they're a'comin'!

Great pics!

If he is talking so well without being able to hear well, imagine what he will be saying when he can hear better! I hope that everything goes well and that it is quick and painless for everyone.

That's funny that he is going to se Elmo this weekend- Mairead just went on Saturday! She loved it- I hope Nathan does, too!

Tubes made an amazing difference for Kayla. As soon as we got in the car from her surgery she started babbling and when we got home she picked up every single one of her musical flashing toys and acted like it was the first time she had ever heard them!
