Nathan is Hebrew and means "gift from God" - we couldn't have been more blessed than to have been chosen as his parents!

Thank you for keeping up-to-date with Nathan. We hope you visit often and enjoy experiencing our son's journey as much as we do. Please feel free to leave comments.

We love hearing from everyone!!!!

A Perfect Day to Conquer Our Fears!

The weather has been just beautiful these past few days and yesterday Nathan and I spent some time at our favorite park. He still has a fear of motion while in a swing ~ so I decided to bring some props or distractions to see if we could work past it.

As you'll see from the slide show, I brought Nathan's soccer ball because it takes up a lot of room in the swing and I think Nathan may feel unsupported because he sits so far forward. By placing the ball in front of him it forced him to sit back, in a more stable and supported position. It didn't work for too long because he kept throwing it out ~ that's what you do with a ball!!! :-)

Next, I tried his Tiger book. I thought, if I could distract him with a book, maybe I could swing him a little and he'd begin enjoying the swing. It worked! He loved looking at his book and was actually giggling while I gently pushed him. It also helped that there were lots of little ones around having a great time on the swings too. He was observing their behavior and when they laughed so did he. It was so cute. We had a great time and are really looking forward to having another great summer!!!

How great is it to finally be able to play outside again? I hope this warming trend continues!
