Nathan is Hebrew and means "gift from God" - we couldn't have been more blessed than to have been chosen as his parents!

Thank you for keeping up-to-date with Nathan. We hope you visit often and enjoy experiencing our son's journey as much as we do. Please feel free to leave comments.

We love hearing from everyone!!!!

An Act of Desperation...

Sunday morning Nathan woke up at 5:00am vomiting. The poor little nugget was so sick, he literally slept on me all day and slept all night. No playing. Nothing. He also wasn't interested in eating; a yogurt was about it. When you're a little peanut like Nathan, not eating is troubling, but not half as troubling as when Monday came and he ate nothing but a yogurt and fruit and then Tuesday when all he would eat was some toast, apple sauce, and half a yogurt. Three full days with little food was really unsettling. He looked so pale and tired. It was breaking my heart. I tried everything! My kitchen was seriously a little restaurant and Nonni even brought food over. All his favorites ~ even ice cream. He just didn't want to eat. His little belly was so sick. Our saving grace was that he was drinking, so he wouldn't get dehydrated. He wasn't alone. Daddy was also very sick, Mommy was sick, and so were the majority of his little friends at school.

Last night, we were desperate for Nathan to eat something, so Danny went to Wendy's and bought him french fries and a milk shake. To most of you, this isn't a big deal, but to our family it is. I'm dead set against eating fast food at McDonald's, Burger King, or Wendy's (among other things), but we had to give the french fries a try. Nathan also loved milkshakes over the summer, so we thought we'd give that a whirl too. As much as I wanted him to eat something, I was secretly happy when he took one bite of those fries and threw them on the floor! And, spit up the shake after two sips.

Today's been a little better. He's eaten yogurt, toast, Kixx (I think that's how you spell it. I don't buy this cereal. He ate it at school.) and some of his lunch. We're about to eat some lasagna Nonni made for us - yum! We'll see how he does. I have pasta and sauce too. If those don't work, I'll try a few other things. I'm hoping his appetite will return with a vengeance! I'm sure he has some weight to put back on.

These are some fun pictures from school the past few weeks. Nathan gets tired toward the end of the day and has fallen asleep a few times. hehehe

He is looking SO grown up! I'm sorry he wasn't feeling well- we have had that stomach bug in our house twice now and it is NO fun. Hope he is back to his old smiling self!
