Dunk-A-Daddy Day!

I love any day to celebrate the love of family and friends ~ especially Father's Day! I do my very best to think of fun and creative ways to honor the spectacular dads in my life and make their day fun and reminiscent of who they are and what they enjoy.

Father's Day is not only a time of reflection and thankfulness for the sacrifices and love my own father has given me through the years, but to honor the awesomeness and sacrifices of Danny both as a father and husband.

This year, we began our creative expressions by creating this gorgeous sand picture ~ it was used for Danny's father's day card.  Needless to say, he loved it and we're turning it into artwork for his office.  I did some creative editing to the photo to make everything stand out and it was well worth the effort.  I double layered the pictures, turned the top into a sepia photo and then erased Nathan the "Daddy" written in the sand, so they were the only parts of the photo that are in color.

Father's day began at camp, as it has for the past several years, with a little table decorating and some super fun pancakes and bacon (Danny and Nathan's favorite).

Daddy & Nathan
After breakfast, we spent time doing what we do best ~ playing, swimming, and relaxing.  Nathan thought it was a total riot to dunk Danny and count to see how long he could stay under.  Silly.

Nathan's favorite pool activity ~ jumping in!

Three generations of love...

We planned to cap the day off with Daddy's favorite dinner ~ steak and clams and this year, I tried something different for dessert ~ brownie ice cream sandwiches with melted then frozen peanut butter (Daddy's favorite is brownie sundaes with peanut butter).  They were hands-down delicious and I will absolutely make them again!

We enjoyed story time by the fire and eventually called it a night.

Happy Father's Day to my two favorite guys ~ for whom without, life would not be the same.  XXOO
